About this Event

Opera was the height of popular music for centuries, yet most people today have never gone to see an opera in person. But why? Elitism, foreign languages, expensive tickets, and sitting in the nosebleeds are all common perceptions that might deter a first-timer from experiencing the incredible music and musicianship that opera offers. We are removing all those barriers and taking a non-serious approach to opera: the good, the bad, and the ugly!  Enjoy a free evening of opera arias 100% in English where everyone gets a front row seat while enjoying delicious tapas and drinks. Soprano Madeline Ross (Renegade Opera), Mezzo-Soprano Jessica Blau (Portland Opera), and pianist Susan McDaniel (Portland Opera) are rewriting the script—literally—and presenting the vast emotional array of the human spirit through music's most extra art form.

This event is free to attend. Tips for the artists are greatly appreciated.
